EU Mechanism: ProtectDefenders.eu

ProtectDefenders.eu is the European Union Human Rights Defenders mechanism, established to protect defenders at high risk and facing the most difficult situations worldwide. 

ProtectDefenders.eu will provide practical support for human rights defenders at risk including through:

• Emergency support for HRDs at risk
• Support to local HRD organisations
• Temporary relocation of HRDs at risk
• Training and information to HRDs at risk
• Monitoring and advocacy

ProtectDefenders.eu has a budget of €15,000,000 over three years and an independent secretariat has been established in Brussels to coordinate the implementation.
